Animate your life
Nasser Lalljee tells you the story of a man of uses animation to melt his worries away...
Vikram Tambavekar, 49
Professional in the field of structural engineering,
Shivai Nagar
Vikram Tambavekar has one major hobby -he loves to read and absorb as much as he can about all the new technological innovations in his field. He can read most anything he gets his hands on, but his first choice is his chosen field.
Waking up at about seven, he tries to take a short walk, depending on what time his first meeting is. Else he simply likes to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, reading a lot of newspapers and catching up with the latest news on television. Puja follows bath and after this he leaves for work.
During the day, he visits various sites. This gives him a lot of exercise, albeit involuntary, as he is forced to walk long distances! After a long day, he only gets back home at about 10 pm. After a bath and dinner he watches a movie or the news, interacts with his family and listens to music before going off to bed.
Stress is a killer- a fact that Vikram knows and admits. But he has found a new and unique method to beat it. A few minutes of working on the animation programmes that his son has leaves him a new man. He has found that a complete change of focus for a while, in an activity that, engages the mind completely arid cuts you off from the, ‘now', works wonders for he wholesome feeling of deep relaxation.
This new face of engineering has caught his fancy and he sits with his son at every possible chance. He comes out of these sessions completely relaxed and all problems that were troubling him seem to be gone. He now tackles those problems with a fresh mind, often getting a new perspective.
Weekends are spent with family, photographing various landscapes whose changing faces never cease to amaze him. Project shooting is taken care of in office hours. Interacting with his son who is studying animation is what gets him going.
