Ever wonder about that aching Shoulder? And why it is happening? True, you will blame the bed, the pillow or even the positioning of your body during sleep. You will even wonder if you carried a heavy load yesterday. What about that pain in the lower half of your back? The most common answer will be slip disc. And why do you feel wobbly at the knees? These are common, everyday problems, but have you ever wondered why they are happening to you at a deeper level?

Physicians and doctors have done investigations, X-rays, scanning. Have they scanned your emotions? Has anybody X-rayed your thought process? Has anybody prescribed something to correct your mental frame? It is said in metaphysics that body and mind are the two sides of the same coin – the soul. Disease or pain arises in the body only to show the disturbed thought process of mind.

A little soul searching along with a lot of guidance will help you reveal those inner happenings to which your body is reacting. According to Dr Vinayak Paranjape, "Physical pain is the cry of the mind to attract attention, as the built up stress breaks out as a disease or pain. Different parts of the body represent certain states of mind and thought patterns. For example, we use the phrase 'shouldering responsibility' very often, not knowing where it originates.

The shoulders are the areas of responsibility. Just split the word into 'response' and 'ability' and it will be crystal clear. Those niggling worries react on the shoulders, which are areas of responsibility and the inadequacy to handle a particular situation, results in shoulder aches.”

What is important and required is the knowledge and ability to respond correctly to tension. As long as this is understood you are in a healthy state of emotion. No sooner does the attitude change and tension and pressure seem to be a burden rather than a challenge, when the ability to handle stress lessens there is bound to be stiffness and pain, as responsibility is self-imposed whereas the burden is extrinsic. So next time when You have stiffness in shoulders, be aware, analyse it in the above context and you will find your shoulders almost free by the next morning.

The areas around the knees are represented as the seat of insecurity, representing fear at emotion al levels. Sometimes it is ego, as fear and ego are the two sides of the same coin. As the elderly start to retire, the knee pains start. This is because the income has stopped, which leads to insecurity. Again, as one's thinking patterns change, and the individual comes to terms with the new phase of life and understanding and the acceptance of the change in life sets in, the pains generally disappear.

The knees are the connection between thigh and calf muscle area. Remember the thigh patting of the wrestlers before the match? The thighs represent self-confidence and the patting of it naturally builds self-confidence. Further, the calf areas are places of self-control on emotional plain. Just imagine a person without self confidence or self-control. The individual would be extremely timid, and as the saying goes "not willing to stand up". How can he be, when the knees will not support him?

One of the most important and basic ingredients of life is love. If you are short of it an yearn for the twin emotions of love and acceptance your body will become diabetic. Among the first signs will be shortness of breath. Analyse yourself and understand that first of all you have to learn to accept love and give it freely, and for this one has to change one's thinking. High blood pressure will follow if you have suppressed aggressive energies, which have not been lived out. Give of what you have and let new life flow through you. Low blood pressure signifies you are trying to avoid problems.

Turning your anger on yourself, suppressed aggressions partnerships will result in gallstones as well as kidney stones and surely you will have ulcers. Intolerance and exaggerations are paid back in the form of jaundice. Depression and cancer both have their roots in not accepting yourself as a whole. You have to ask yourself where in your life you have not accepted certain things and where have you gone away from yourself.

When you hold 'back emotions like anger, hatred, and you are unable to let go of the past, you will most probably be suffering from asthma, throat troubles, arthritis as well as constipation, both of which denote greed and not wanting to let anything go - not only in monetary terms but also in the form of old ideas. Arthritis will again denote the inability to let go. Remember change is inevitable. That is the only constant factor in our lives. Again accept the facts and change before the damage is irremediable. The body has fantastic powers to recuperate and heal itself. Rediscover your strength use it and help the body to heal.
