In between the Thane Octroi Check Post, and the Mulund Toll Plaza on the Eastern Express Highway, there is an extensive build up of empty Plastic bags, which seems to be a definite pattern of dumping over a period of time. The Asst. Municipal Commissioner T Ward, B R Marathe was frank enough to admit, “I do not know about the build up thought there is a dumping area further up the land.” He has asked the Asst. head Supervisor Mr. Ghodke for a report. Somehow there are a number of small tree planted among the plastic rubbish, to which there a board stating “Mini Forest” at the entrance to Hari Om Nagar. One wonders how this dump a me to be, and more so , how the municipal authorities are blissfully unaware of it.
